GAME Academy was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme.
Erasmus+ is the EU’s funding scheme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Erasmus+ Sport supports grassroots sport partnerships across Europe in order to:
- tackle cross-border threats to the integrity of sport, such as doping, match fixing and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination;
- promote and support good governance in sport and dual careers of athletes;
- promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity, through increased participation in, and equal access to sport for all.
GAME Academy was created with co-funding from Erasmus+ Sport through the ‘Youth-Led Street Sport for All’ project. This ‘YSSA’ grant brings together five partners - ARSIS, the Association for the Social Support of Youth, in Thessaloniki, Greece; CESIE, European centre of studies and initiatives in Palermo, Italy; Integracijos Centras, in Kaunas, Lithuania; MOVE, in Valletta, Malta; and GAME in Copenhagen, Denmark - with the goal of increased participation in sports, strengthened social inclusion and the promotion of voluntary activity amongst disadvantaged children and youth.
For the opportunity to use street sports as a way to empower the next generation, and for the push to innovate and create new tools that can be shared widely we, the partners of the Youth-Led Street Sport for All project, offer a special Thank You to the European Union.
